The problem seems to occur because the PS4 Pro demands from the 4K TV that it can manage a 10-bit or 12-bit color depth in RGB, and some 4K TVs can output 10-bit or 12-bit color depth BUT ONLY in YUV420 or YUV422 modes, and are limited to 8-bit color depth in RGB mode, which doesn't seem to be enough to enjoy HDR (or High Dynamic Range, the hell with all those acronyms!)
It would be nice if someone could set up an information website about which 4K TV sets work properly with the ...

With all due respect
1. i don't make heavy use of the likes of Twitter, FB etc. to constantly spew my little political opinion from the confort of my privileged status as a famous & wealthy artist who conveniently likes to think everybody has it as easy as he does,
2. I'm not an American, and "my" country is not, for the better or worse, the USA. I'm European, and let me tell you that if you are not, you don't know how serious the situation is o...

I don't know who those people are (except for H. Kojima of course), but they should concentrate on whatever game it is they're working on and let gamers (the people that give them a job in the first place) decide who they want to vote for alone, without trying to sway them to a political party or another.

On a side note, Donald Trump is probably the best thing that ever happened to America these last hundred years. He will be the saving grace of the USA, and maybe e...

A 1 or 2 fps drop here and there when the game is running in 4K (native), big deal. If that's the sort of trade-off we have to expect in the future to get more native 4K games, count me in.

We always get shafted over here. Prices that are not converted properly even when the euro is strong, games that are never released when they are in Japan & the US, or years later, black & white manuals when they are/were in full color in the US/JP version of the game, no 60Hz option back then on older systems (or very late in the PS2 system's life, and seldom implemented), plain generic white & black design on the side of PS2 games when the US/JP cases had custom designs, crap...

Batman Arkham Asylum number 1, yeah right, when you have Arkham Knight which utterly destroys it in just about every aspect, not the least of which is the visual department. Whatever.

The PS4 Pro does seem to improve the visuals of these VR games a bit, but as always it's hard to tell for sure on a youtube video. VR more than anything else HAS to be experienced for real to see what it's all about.

"Yes, the PS4 Pro is a graphical powerhouse of a system and, arguably, is the most impressive console ever made. As someone with a rich history in PC gaming, I can quite honestly say that I feel that the Pro, for the money asked, offers a gaming system that is comparable to 4K gaming PCs that cost 5 times that amount. The difference, in this reviewer's eyes, is simply that small and when you consider the comparatively low price, best-in-class library of games and ease of use, you rea...

Looks fantastic. I really didn't expect 4K to rear its pretty head during this gen with such an important revision to the hardware.

If you really understood all of that jargon in the article I'm afraid YOU ARE a nerd, lol
It's alright to be a nerd though.

"Or try Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare, Activision’s space-bound shooter. At 1080p on PS4 Pro, it looks analogous to the standard PlayStation 4 version. But on a 4K set, the visuals upscale dramatically, to the point that discerning the graphical differences between it and the PC version running at native 4K become salient only to nitpickers."

Damn, here's hoping my things on ebay sell before Christmas. On a side note, it's the first time I've been int...

This should've been the normal PS4 which released in 2013. Well, the original PS4 IS a great console, make no mistake about it, but this is clearly one case where competition shows its limit, i.e. where the two competitors are scrutinizing each other so hard with a view to pulling the rug from under the "other"'s feet and be first on the market that the two next-gen (now new-gen) systems released a tad bit too early. At any rate, this is at least a (great) move to right that...

I agree with the first part of your statement, not including UHD BR support in the PS4 Pro is a blunder, though not huge because the choice just isn't there when it comes to UHD Blu-Rays, and they're not really 4K generally speaking (post-processing is usually done in 2K).
The second part however, hmm no, I really don't think there'll be a "PS4 ultra" in 2018 or ever, more like the PS5 in 2019-2020.
Anyway, even the lack of UHD BR support doesn'...

Impressive. The PS4 Pro version not only stands against the PC version, it even beats it!

I'm into consoles that have more than double the power of their first iteration though, esp. when it was already the more powerful console to begin with. plus I really like that "triple layer" design.

Erm, what? Sega had 4 different versions of a console during the '90s? You mean the Genesis and? The 32X, which was an add-on not a standalone console, and? I'm not sure I'm following you here.

Anyway I understand how you must feel, but when you take into consideration the fact that in order to do real native 4K on AAA titles (and only @ 30fps at that) some say it's going to take at least 12GB of VRAM and an at least 12 TFLOPS GPU, I really don't think S...

Not surprised to be honest: I finally got to try VR a wee bit, the HTC Vive and the PS VR at least, and even before actually putting the mask on, I could tell the glass goggles inside of the HTC Vive were going to make the experience less than stellar (you can see some strange round markings on it, akin to what you'd see on the ...er...headlight of a car :p). Once the helmet entirely put on, bingo! I could see all the pixels and it didn't look good.

For some reason ...

It does look like a last-gen game, but in 4K it is magnificent nonetheless.

Parasite Eve 2 wasn't very good, because of its utterly ridiculous monsters, Ghost in the Shell was cr@p, but Jumping Flash was fantastic, its sequel too. And I'd like to add Tail Concerto in there.
